Heavy Rains Lead To Sewer Overflow

CARY, N.C. -

Heavy rains from Tropical Storm Hanna resulted in 5,400 gallons of sanitary sewer water to overflow from a manhole at the Walnut Creek pump station Saturday.

The pump station is located off Buck Jones Road.  T the untreated waste water reached Walnut Creek.  The heavy rains prevented clean-up efforts, and the excessive rain naturally flushed the area.
